Description

Are you passionate about building communities and creating authentic connections with developers? Do you thrive at the intersection of social media, community strategy, and marketing operations — and get excited about the idea of shaping how a global developer brand shows up in the world?

Amazon's Developer Marketing team is looking for a Community Marketing Manager to own the developer social media and community engagement strategy across Amazon Developer products including Fire TV and Alexa . This role is the connective tissue between our developer community and the broader marketing organization — combining strategic planning, hands-on execution, cross-functional coordination, and community building to drive meaningful engagement with developers around the world.

You will own the Amazon Developer social media presence, build and lead a developer community outreach program, and manage end-to-end marketing workflows. The ideal candidate is a data-driven, community-obsessed marketer who thrives in ambiguity, moves fast, and brings both creative instincts and operational rigor to everything they do.

Key job responsibilities

Developer Social Media & Community Ownership - Own Amazon Developer social media presence across LinkedIn, X/Twitter, YouTube, and emerging platforms; develop content calendars, manage publishing operations, and monitor sentiment using Sprinklr and Common Room

Social Strategy & Content Planning - Develop social strategy and editorial calendar with Marketing, Product Marketing, and Evangelism teams; ensure alignment with product launches, events, and developer stories while maintaining brand voice

Community Engagement & Monitoring - Monitor trending topics and conversations across developer platforms (Reddit, Stack Overflow, GitHub, Discord); execute daily engagement and foster relationships with community members and influencers

Developer Event Strategy - Own in-person and hybrid developer event strategy including sponsored events, workshops, and meetups; identify opportunities aligned with business objectives and introduce formats that deliver developer value

Developer Community Programs - Build developer community outreach program; nurture relationships, identify and empower advocates, create recognition programs, and establish feedback loops informing product and marketing strategies

Event Execution & Content Capture - Provide onsite event coordination; own content video workflows, agency execution, and post-event deliverables; coordinate cross-functional teams to measure impact

Marketing Workflow Management - Own end-to-end marketing workflow and intake process; manage third-party agency workflows to ensure content meets SLAs

Marketing Calendar & Planning - Maintain marketing calendar for full team visibility; lead biannual planning cycles, identify bottlenecks, and establish scalable processes

Performance Measurement & Reporting - Measure and report on social media metrics, community KPIs, and event ROI; provide monthly performance reports and data-driven optimization recommendations

About The Team

The Content & App Partner Engagement (CAPE) Marketing, Education, and Technology (MET) team's vision is to inspire and ignite global third-party developer communities at scale, who in turn create exceptional experiences for Amazon customers. MET is comprised of multiple functional teams across a range of specialties — together serving as stewards of the Amazon Developer brand and builder experience. The team is uniquely horizontal within Devices & Services, supporting a broad and growing base of partners across developer.amazon.com and beyond.

Within MET, the Marketing and Creative (MAC) team serves as the forefront of developer-first engagement across Alexa, Appstore, and Fire devices — spanning marketing, creative, evangelism, events, website, data integration, and research. Our team culture is goal-oriented, collaborative, and driven to achieve results while still having fun. We seek individuals who are motivated by a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and excited to build programs from the ground up using data, developer insights, and creative instincts.

Basic Qualifications

  • 4 years of professional non-internship marketing experience
  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
  • Experience managing multiple projects and priorities across teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Experience with written and verbal communication and presentation
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years of social media management experience, preferably in B2D (Business-to-Developer) or technology sectors
  • Experience managing multiple social media channels simultaneously across LinkedIn, X/Twitter, and YouTube
  • Experience with social media management and listening tools (e.g., Sprinklr, Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Common Room)
  • Experience in developer marketing, developer relations, or B2D marketing
  • Demonstrated track record of growing online communities and driving measurable engagement
  • Experience managing agency relationships and third-party vendor workflows
  • Experience with event strategy and execution, including grassroots or community-led events
  • Familiarity with developer tools and platforms (e.g., Fire TV, Alexa, app stores)
  • Ability to adapt voice and tone for developer audiences
  • Experience with marketing planning processes including budget management and planning cycles
