Key job responsibilities
A day in the life
Your internship will be an immersive journey into advanced computational research. You'll collaborate with world-class scientists and engineers, exploring innovative approaches to solving complex computational problems. Expect to engage in hands-on projects that challenge your technical skills and spark your creativity.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $65.38/hr in our lowest geographic market up to $107.40/hr in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. - Collaborate with senior researchers to design and implement distributed computing solutions.
- Design and prototype novel distributed computing architectures that enhance system performance and reliability
- Conduct advanced research on scalable fault-tolerant systems for data center and serverless environments

Basic Qualifications
- Are enrolled in a PhD
- Are 18 years of age or older
- Work 40 hours/week minimum and commit to 12 week internship maximum
- Can relocate to where the internship is based
- Experience programming or scripting language like Python, Java, C or C
- Have publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals
- Experience in any of the following areas: algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, high-performance computing
