Maintenance Supervisor

Job Summary:

Alvarado Care Center, a 72-bed skilled nursing facility located in Los Angeles/Korea Town, is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for overseeing the overall maintenance operation of the facility, performing repairs and maintenance on equipment, and ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients and visitors.

Responsibilities:

• Perform overall supervision of the Maintenance Department, including hands-on performance of maintenance and repair work
• Maintain the building in good repair and free of hazards
• Maintain the building and grounds in compliance with Federal, State, and local laws
• Order and requisition supplies and equipment as needed
• Perform regular daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance checks
• Assign duties and work assignments
• Maintain required records and reports
• Participate in budget planning for the Maintenance Department
• Orient and instruct all maintenance personnel
• Review and evaluate the work performance of assigned personnel
  
  
  

Requirements:

• High school degree or equivalent and basic training in electrical, plumbing, heating, and HVAC systems
• Supervisory experience is also required for this position
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the spoken English language
• Strong organizational skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Agile and in good physical health
• Knowledge of budget preparation process
• Ability to work well with others on a variety of professional levels
  
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a healthcare setting
• Knowledge of fire alarm and emergency generator systems
  
  
  

Physical Capacities:

• Ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
• Ability to climb ladders and stairs
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  
  
  

Work Environment:

• The Maintenance Supervisor will work in a fast-paced healthcare environment, with exposure to various chemicals, machinery, and equipment.
