Key Responsibilities:
- Perform overall supervision of the Maintenance Department, including "hands-on" performance of maintenance and repair work
- Maintain the building in good repair and free of hazards, ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and local laws
- Maintain required records and reports, and participate in budget planning for the Maintenance Department
- Order and requisition supplies and equipment as needed, and orient and instruct maintenance personnel
- Participate in and plan in-service programs, and attend Department Head Meetings and sit on required committees
- Recruit, interview, hire, and provide orientation for all employees of the Maintenance Department
- High school degree or equivalent and basic training in electrical, plumbing, heating, and HVAC systems
- Supervisory experience is also required for this position
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the spoken English language
- Strong organizational skills, good written and verbal communication skills, and ability to work well with others
- Knowledge of budget preparation process, and ability to positively interact with personnel, customers, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public
