An established and forward-thinking Freight Forwarder is seeking an experienced Ocean Import Specialist to join their growing team.
This role focuses exclusively on ocean freight imports, requiring a detail-oriented professional who can manage shipments end-to-end while delivering exceptional service and proactive communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage ocean import shipments from A–Z, ensuring smooth and efficient operations
- Coordinate with carriers, shipping lines, and vendors to arrange timely deliveries
- Handle all import documentation, including Bills of Lading, customs paperwork, and compliance requirements
- Communicate effectively with overseas offices, agents, and customers
- Monitor shipment progress and proactively resolve issues before escalation
- Oversee milestones, shipment tracking, and operational control
- Ensure accurate and timely billing and cost management
- Maintain high levels of customer service and operational excellence
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Proven experience in ocean freight forwarding imports
- Strong knowledge of international shipping procedures and documentation
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage multiple shipments simultaneously
- Highly organised, proactive, and solutions-focused
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
