Responsibilities

• Perform clothing alterations including hemming, taking in or letting out seams, and resizing garments with precision and care
• Use sewing machines, hand sewing techniques, and pressing machines to achieve high-quality finishes on various fabrics and garment types
• Operate pressing machines safely to press garments for a professional presentation
• Communicate effectively with customers to understand their needs and provide expert advice on fabric materials and garment care
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace and ensure all tools and equipment are in excellent working condition
• Assist in the production of custom apparel by constructing garments according to specifications
• Apply basic math skills to measure, cut, and adjust garments accurately for optimal fit

Skills

• Experience in fashion retail or clothing alterations is highly preferred
• Proficiency in garment sewing, stitching, hand sewing, and sewing machine operation
• Knowledge of fabric materials and garment construction techniques
• Ability to operate pressing machines and press garments efficiently
• Familiarity with women's wear tailoring, and custom apparel production processes
• Basic math skills for measurements, pattern adjustments, and calculations related to alterations

Pay: From $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16.0 per week
