Senior Systems & Platform Engineer (Primary IT)Location: Fully RemoteType: 6-Month Contract-to-HireContact: Cdinnocenti@altaits.com Role PurposeAs the Senior Systems & Platform Engineer, you will be the technical owner of our Azure ecosystem and platform reliability. Your mission is to oversee performance, security, cost, automation, and incident response. You will translate operations telemetry into architectural improvements and ensure the platform remains in a continuous state of audit-readiness. Core Responsibilities· Azure Architecture & Operations: Manage VM/SQL sizing, scaling, automated patching, backups, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).· Security & Networking: Direct oversight of VNets, firewalls/NSGs, VPN/HTTPS protocols, Azure Key Vault, and identity management.· Compliance & ClearDATA Coordination: Partner with ClearDATA for alert remediation, gathering audit evidence, and ensuring strict policy alignment.· Observability & Reliability: Utilize Log Analytics and App Insights to manage alert routing, maintain SLO dashboards, and lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) efforts.· Security Lifecycle Management: Manage certificate/domain/DNS lifecycles, conduct access reviews, perform hardening, and lead vulnerability management.· Disaster Recovery (DR/BCP): Define backup policies, execute restore tests, maintain failover runbooks, and report on RTO/RPO metrics.· Release & Automation: Establish environment readiness gates, conduct rollback rehearsals, and leverage PowerShell, Azure CLI, Bicep, or Terraform for task automation.· Leadership & Collaboration: Mentor IT Ops Analysts, enforce change control standards, and partner with the Integrations team to ensure Rhapsody infrastructure resiliency and throughput. Technical RequirementsMust-Have Skills· Cloud Engineering: 5–8 years of experience in cloud systems engineering with a heavy focus on Azure.· Database Administration: Proven experience in SQL Server administration.· Identity & Networking: Strong grasp of SAML/OIDC, cloud networking, and certificate management.· Incident Management: Experience acting as an Incident Commander, authoring RCAs, and supporting audits (HIPAA, SOC2, or HITRUST).· Automation: Advanced proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and a performance-tuning mindset.Nice-to-Have Skills· Infrastructure knowledge of Rhapsody or Mirth.· Experience with BI/Report platform deployments.
Salary : $100,000 - $125,000
