DAY TO DAY:
Our fast growing insurance client in Durham, NC is seeking a motivated accountant to join their team. You will be responsible for standard close items, journal entries, doing reconciliations, you will work on reassurance settlements as well. You will be involved in financial reporting with putting together financial statements under GAAP. We also report under a few other frameworks in addition to GAAP as wel. This role is responsible for preparing financial records of insurance subsidiaries, handling both GAAP and STAT reporting. This role will also help ensure accuracy of the general ledger information and will assist in monthly analysis of financial results and key business drivers. In addition to monthly close activities, the staff accountant will assist with completion and monitoring of internal control activities.We are in the process of implementing Workiva for financial statements. We are seeking someone who can ask questions and take ownership. Fixed assets. If you identify something like a research project for a new accounting standard that you are interested in, then we will support you fully getting involved. We are looking for someone to drive their own path.
