Director of Treasury
Client: Tech-Focused Insurance Company
Location: Durham — Hybrid (3 days onsite / 2 remote)
Compensation: $175K–$190K Base Annual Bonus LTIP

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- 8 years of experience in Treasury, Cash Management, Middle Office Banking, or Settlements
- Strong experience with securities and derivatives settlements
- Experience working with custodians, trustees, and bank counterparties within corporate, insurance, or asset management environments
- Deep understanding of custody and trust accounts (investment holding accounts)
- Prior experience working within a bank, financial institution, or insurance organization in a treasury-focused role
- Strong knowledge of:
- Corporate bonds (required)
- Private placements
- Alternative investments
- Mortgage-backed securities/products
- Proven ability to track and manage cash movement across accounts and investment activity
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis, reporting, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact confidently with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
- High-energy, proactive personality with strong ownership mentality
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA and/or CFA designation
- Master’s degree
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Our fast-growing, tech-focused insurance client is seeking a Director of Treasury to lead day-to-day treasury operations within a dynamic and collaborative environment. This individual will oversee liquidity management, cash positioning, custody and trust account activity, and funding strategies to support efficient capital deployment across the organization.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing treasury operations, cash management, and liquidity planning
- Overseeing collateral management and investment settlement activity
- Maintaining and strengthening banking, custodian, and trustee relationships
- Partnering cross-functionally with Finance, Investments, Legal, and Risk teams
- Driving process improvements, treasury automation initiatives, and operational efficiencies
- Supporting treasury systems enhancements and cash management optimization
- Ensuring strong financial controls, governance, and regulatory compliance
- Contributing to the continued build-out and modernization of the organization’s treasury infrastructure
This is a highly visible role offering strong exposure to executive leadership within a fast-paced, growth-oriented organization.
Salary : $170,000 - $195,000
