We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Service Advisor to join our automotive shop team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers seeking vehicle maintenance and repair services. This role involves assessing customer needs, providing accurate estimates, and coordinating with technicians to ensure timely and quality service delivery. Duties
- Greet customers promptly and professionally, establishing a positive rapport
- Listen to customer concerns and accurately document vehicle issues
- Provide detailed auto estimates for repairs and maintenance, including oil changes, tire services, brake repairs, transmissions, suspension, alignments, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts, air brake systems, and auto body repairs
- Upsell additional services or products that meet customer needs while maintaining integrity
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritize work orders and ensure efficient workflow
- Explain repair recommendations clearly and answer customer questions effectively
- Handle cash transactions and process payments accurately
- Maintain detailed records of service orders and customer interactions in the dealership management system
- Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and promote repeat business
Experience
- Previous dealership experience or auto service management background is highly preferred
- Knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, and vehicle maintenance procedures
- Experience with auto estimating software and service writing is advantageous
- Familiarity with a wide range of automotive repairs including transmissions, oil changes, alignments, suspension work, tire services, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts, brake repairs, air brake systems, and auto body repair
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to upsell effectively while maintaining trust
- Mechanical knowledge combined with service technician experience enhances effectiveness in this role
- Proven ability to handle cash transactions accurately and manage multiple customer interactions simultaneously
