Job Summary
The Construction Manager oversees residential and ADU construction projects from pre-construction through final inspection and closeout. This role is responsible for managing field operations, subcontractor coordination, scheduling, inspections, budgeting support, quality control, and overall project execution to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with approved plans and applicable codes.
The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, hands-on, and capable of managing multiple active projects while coordinating between field teams, consultants, city inspectors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
-Manage residential and ADU construction projects from pre-construction planning through project closeout
-Coordinate and supervise day-to-day field operations, subcontractors, and construction sequencing
-Track project schedules, budgets, milestones, and overall construction progress
-Conduct regular site walks to monitor quality, safety, workmanship, and compliance with approved plans
-Coordinate inspections and ensure projects are inspection-ready at each phase
-Review construction drawings, RFIs, submittals, and field conditions with the project team
-Identify construction conflicts, delays, or scope issues and proactively develop solutions
-Coordinate material procurement, deliveries, and site logistics
-Maintain organized project documentation including schedules, site reports, inspection records, and issue tracking
-Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, inspectors, subcontractors, and internal teams
-Assist with project budgeting, cost tracking, change orders, and schedule forecasting
-Ensure projects are delivered in alignment with company standards, timelines, and client expectations
Qualifications
-Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field
(or equivalent hands-on construction management experience)
-3–5 years of experience in construction management, project coordination, or field supervision
-Strong understanding of residential construction methods, sequencing, inspections, and project execution
-Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings
-Experience managing subcontractors, vendors, and multiple trades simultaneously
-Strong organizational, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
-Comfortable managing active job sites and multiple concurrent projects
-Familiarity with construction scheduling and project management software
Preferred Qualifications
-Experience with ADU, residential ground-up, or light commercial construction
-Familiarity with California permitting, inspection, and building code processes
-Experience with budgeting, cost tracking, scheduling, and construction reporting
-Ability to manage projects independently with limited oversight.
Must-Have Qualifications:
-3–5 years of experience in residential construction management, field coordination, or project management
-Strong understanding of residential construction sequencing, inspections, and day-to-day field operations
-Experience managing subcontractors, schedules, and multiple active construction projects
-Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings
-Familiarity with California residential permitting and inspection processes
-Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
-Comfortable working both in the field and coordinating with office/project teams
-Ability to proactively identify issues and drive projects toward completion
-Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for site visits
-Proficient with construction documentation, scheduling, and basic project tracking tools

Salary Type: Annually Salary
Expected Salary Min: 80,000.00 USD
Expected Salary Max: 90,000.00 USD
