Status: Full-Time | Hourly | Bi-Weekly Pay
Schedule: Minimum of 3 shifts per week, rotating across 2 clinics

We are seeking a high-performing, dependable, and clinically strong Lead Medical Assistant to oversee operations and support staff at two AlphaCare Urgent Care clinics.
Position Summary
The Lead Medical Assistant is responsible for ensuring clinical workflows operate smoothly and efficiently across two urgent care clinics. This role combines direct patient care with leadership responsibilities—including staff training, communication oversight, inventory management, quality control, and accountability to performance metrics.
The Lead MA sets the tone for teamwork, professionalism, and high clinical standards.
Primary Responsibilities
Clinic Leadership & Oversight
- Serve as the primary MA leader for two clinic locations.
- Support, mentor, and train Medical Technicians/Medical Assistants.
- Ensure daily clinic operations run efficiently, following AlphaCare protocols.
- Monitor and address staff performance concerns, attendance trends, or workflow issues.
- Maintain consistent communication between clinic staff, providers, and leadership.
Opening & Closing Responsibilities
Opening (Arrive by 7:45 AM):
- Prepare clinic for 8:00 AM opening.
- Power on equipment, lights, TVs.
- Ensure exam rooms and bathrooms are clean and stocked.
- Stock PPE, testing materials, and paper supplies.
- Verify lab equipment readiness.
- Review communication log and pending tasks.
Closing:
- Ensure all logs, labs, and EHR documentation are complete.
- Stock exam rooms for next day.
- Secure all equipment, biohazard waste, and sharps containers.
- Document pending tasks for next day.
Clinical Duties
- Escort patients to exam rooms and obtain vitals, history, chief complaint, and allergies.
- Perform in-house testing: strep, flu, COVID, UA, pregnancy, glucose.
- Collect, label, and log specimens following chain-of-custody protocols.
- Administer injections, vaccines, and medications under provider orders.
- Conduct EKGs, wound care, and X-rays (if certified).
- Assist providers during procedures and exams.
- Perform QC on UA machines and POC test kits.
- Package specimens for laboratory pickup.
- Manage lab sheets, logs, and weekly inventory.
Leadership & Administrative Duties
- Monitor and ensure 100% completion of clinical logs, fridge temps, QC, and compliance tasks.
- Oversee weekly inventory counts and ensure adequate supply levels across both clinics.
- Audit clinical documentation for accuracy and compliance.
- Assist with scheduling coverage needs, including shift swaps and call-outs.
- Support front desk and clinical flow as needed to maintain wait-time goals.
Qualifications
Preferred not required
- Minimum 3 year of experience as a Medical Assistant or Medical Technician.
- Strong clinical competency in urgent care or primary care setting.
- Excellent attendance record and ability to work independently.
- Exceptional communication, multitasking, and leadership skills.
- Ability to travel between two clinic locations as assigned.
- X-ray certification
- 1 year of experience in team leadership or training roles
- Familiarity with EHR systems (Athena or similar)

Pay: $19.50 - $20.00 per hour
