Job Summary: The Medical Assistant will be responsible for clerical and clinical tasks, as well as, phlebotomy and specimen collection procedures. They will also be tasked with preparing patients for continued medical evaluation while working in conjunction with physicians, nurse practitioners, office and clinical staff. This is a part time position primarily between our Magee locations. MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK EVERY OTHER WEEKEND

Anticipated Start Date: November/December 2025
Position Responsibilities: The Medical Assistant's duties include, but are not limited to:
- Greeting incoming patients, performing clerical tasks and correspondence, utilizing electronic medical records system to document patient information for Urgent Care and Primary Care patients.
- Verifying insurance information and benefits and data entry.
- Obtaining and accurately documents patient vital signs and weight, takes brief history, past medical, family and social history current medications, allergies and other pertinent historical information as appropriate for Urgent Care and Primary Care patients.
- Perform medical procedures and laboratory procedures appropriate for level of training under the direction of a provider for Urgent Care and Primary Care patients.
- Assists other personnel with patient check in/out procedures for Urgent Care and Primary Care patients.
- Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills, is well-organized, and possesses the energy and focus to keep up in the Urgent Care and Primary Care environment
- Collect blood samples, urine samples, and oral/nasopharyngeal samples from patients to perform rapid CLIA waived in-house testing, including but not limited to Flu, Strep, RSV, MONO, etc. for Urgent Care and Primary Care patients.
- Be friendly, courteous and sympathetic when it comes to working with patients
- Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills, is well-organized, and possesses the energy and focus to keep up in the Urgent Care and Primary Care environment.
Position Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Medical Assistant certification or other relevant certification
- Phlebotomy or equivalent certification and adequate blood draw skills

Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
