We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Level 1 Computer Technician to provide first-line technical support and assistance to end-users. This entry-level role is ideal for candidates with a foundational understanding of computer hardware, software, and troubleshooting practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide basic technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
- Assist users with hardware and software issues, both in-person and remotely.
- Perform routine maintenance, updates, and upgrades on systems and software.
- Set up and configure new hardware, including PCs, monitors, and network devices.
- Log all support requests and activities in the ticketing system.
- Escalate complex issues to Level 2 or senior IT staff as necessary.
- Assist with inventory management of IT assets.
- Follow company IT policies and procedures, including data protection and security guidelines.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of Windows and/or macOS environments.
- Understanding of common software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, web browsers, antivirus software).
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals (IP, DNS, DHCP is a plus).
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic hardware and software problems.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Attention to detail and good organizational skills.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Certification or coursework in IT (e.g., CompTIA A , ITIL Foundation) preferred.
- 0–1 years of experience in an IT support or technician role (internship or academic lab experience acceptable).
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $16.00 - $16.50 per hour
