What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Planner position at Alpha Executive Search?
The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler partners closely with Maintenance, Operations, and Production teams to coordinate maintenance activities in alignment with production requirements while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance are maintained.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prioritize, and schedule maintenance work orders for equipment, facilities, and utilities
- Collaborate with Supervisors, Leads, and Technicians to define labor requirements, materials, tools, and contractor support needed to complete work
- Align maintenance activities with production schedules, shutdown periods, and operational priorities to minimize disruption
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve preventive and predictive maintenance schedules
- Track maintenance performance metrics and support KPI reporting and analysis
- Ensure all maintenance work is completed in compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate scheduling of outside contractors and service providers as required
- Monitor spare parts availability and support inventory planning and control
- Maintain accurate and timely records of maintenance activities within CMMS/EAM systems
- Support troubleshooting efforts through organization and review of technical data and equipment history
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- 2–3 years of experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, or industrial maintenance environment
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment required
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
