About Alpenglow Homecare

Alpenglow Homecare is a rapidly growing provider of non-medical, unskilled home care services supporting Medicaid patients through both self-directed (consumer-directed) and agency-based programs.

We currently operate in Colorado, Montana, and New Mexico, with plans to expand into Illinois, Michigan, and Massachusetts in 2026.

Our organization supports approximately 350 caregivers and 25 internal team members, all working together to deliver high-quality, person-centered care across multiple states.

Position Overview

This is a dedicated HR role focused on supporting our internal team and caregiver workforce in a fast-growing, multi-state home care environment.

You will handle full-spectrum HR functions from recruitment and onboarding to benefits, employee relations, policy development, and workforce support — while helping build scalable people processes that drive retention, satisfaction, and talent attraction in the competitive caregiver market.

The ideal candidate thrives in a hands-on HR position and enjoys contributing to a mission-driven organization where their work directly impacts caregivers and staff.

Key HR Responsibilities

· Support full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, orientation, and employee relations for our 25 internal team members.

· Assist with HR processes for our 350 caregiver workforce, including coordination of qualifications verification, background checks, orientation, and related documentation.

· Manage workers’ compensation claims, leave administration (FMLA, state leaves, etc.), and coordination with payroll/HRIS systems.

· Assist in the design, administration, and continuous improvement of employee benefits programs, including researching options and supporting enrollment for staff and caregivers.

· Develop, maintain, and update HR policies, employee handbooks, caregiver guidelines, and training programs.

· Provide day-to-day HR guidance, performance management support, and serve as a trusted resource for managers and employees on HR-related matters.

· Collaborate with operations to address workforce needs, proactively resolve employee/caregiver issues, and support retention and engagement initiatives.

Preferred Experience

· Experience with AxisCare or similar home care EMR / EVV platforms.

· Familiarity with consumer-directed or self-directed Medicaid programs, fiscal intermediary requirements, and caregiver compliance elements (such as background checks, training documentation, supervisory visit records, caregiver qualifications, and EVV systems).

· Prior work in home care, healthcare services, Medicaid-funded programs, or other regulated healthcare environments (e.g., behavioral health, hospice, home health, or long-term care).

· Understanding of multi-state HR considerations and/or exposure to state audits, licensing, or Medicaid program rules in caregiving contexts.

Qualifications

· 2–6 years of HR experience (healthcare, home care, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered).

· Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a growing multi-state organization.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort learning new systems quickly (HRIS, payroll, or industry-specific platforms).

· Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred (equivalent experience considered).

First 6-Month Priorities

· Strengthen and standardize HR processes and documentation for our internal team and caregiver workforce.

· Support benefits evaluation and enhancements to improve retention and appeal in the caregiver market.

· Assist leadership in preparing scalable people operations for multi-state expansion.

· Help build consistent HR systems across states to support growth.
