Position Summary
The Assistant Men’s Wrestling Coach is responsible for supporting the head coach in all aspects of the intercollegiate wrestling program. Primary responsibilities include coaching, recruiting qualified student-athletes, fundraising, organizing camps, scheduling, budget management, fostering community engagement, monitoring academic progress, and ensuring compliance with NCAA and MIAA regulations.

This position reports to the head wrestling coach and supervises student assistants.

Essential Functions
Duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Coach and mentor student-athletes within the wrestling program
- Assist in planning and conducting practices, competitions, and scheduling
- Participate in the development and execution of a strategic recruiting plan to attract qualified student-athletes
- Support fundraising efforts and help coordinate program-specific events and camps
- Monitor academic performance and class attendance of student-athletes to ensure progress toward graduation
- Promote and model sportsmanship, integrity, and leadership on and off the mat
- Contribute to alumni engagement and program promotion in coordination with the athletic department
- Maintain compliance with all institutional, NCAA Division III, and MIAA rules and regulations
- Represent Alma College positively in interactions with the public, media, alumni, and high school/club coaches
- Support the mission and values of Alma College and the athletic department
- Encourage student-athlete involvement in campus and community service
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Wrestling Coach or Athletic Director.
- Bachelor’s degree
- Collegiate-level wrestling experience as a player and/or coach
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
- Ability to perform all essential job functions
- Familiarity with NCAA Division III and MIAA rules and regulations
- Understanding of the NCAA Division III philosophy and student-athlete experience
- Experience working with underrepresented, first-generation, Pell-eligible, and diverse populations
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive athletic environment
