Responsibilities
- Thoroughly wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment following food safety sanitizing procedures.
- Operate dishwashing machines and other kitchen equipment safely and effectively.
- Handle manual lifting of heavy items such as large pots or crates of supplies while adhering to proper manual handling techniques.
- Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness throughout the kitchen area in accordance with kitchen health and safety standards.
- Support food handling procedures by ensuring all items are stored properly and hygiene standards are upheld at all times.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
- Knowledge of food safety management and sanitation practices is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during busy service hours.
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment such as dishwashers or sanitizing stations is advantageous.
