Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and quality standards
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, slicers, and food processors
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to food safety and sanitation protocols
- Assist in menu planning by preparing ingredients for upcoming dishes and specials
- Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and freshness of all items served
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal production and timing
- Support catering events or special functions by preparing large quantities of food with precision
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant kitchens, or culinary environments is highly desirable
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and ingredient preparation
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to safety standards in production
- Experience with food industry equipment operation and meal preparation techniques
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen team members
- Background in dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus, especially for specialized menus or health-focused settings
