What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Technician position at AllSTEM Connections?
Summary: -
- Service technician capable to perform diagnostic service, control work, equipment startup, and preventative maintenance work on commercial HVAC systems. May be responsible for inspecting and suggesting more updated and efficient repairs, equipment and/or systems. Must have knowledge all major brands of commercial HVAC boilers and or A/C systems both old and new.
Accountabilities: -
1. Treat all people associated with client, both internally and externally, with respect, honesty and integrity always.
2. Work with a safe attitude promoting safe working practices.
3. Complete understanding of rooftop units, heat pumps, split systems, package units, hydronic systems, VAV Systems, central plant operations and all related control systems.
4. Diagnose and service HVAC systems and components
5. May run refrigeration piping including soldering & brazing
6. Able to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of solution and approaches to problems.
7. Able to communicate with others as well as Tech Service to arrive at a needed repair/solution
8. Must possess a good demeanor to interact & inform customers
9. Accurately estimate time and material requirements for repairs and replacements
10. Maintain a complete set of necessary tools and test equipment
11. Must be available to work overtime on a regular basis and must be able to respond to service calls as needed beyond normal business hours
12. Work as on-call technician during rotation period
13. Responsible for assets used on job site
14. Complete all required paperwork in a neat, legible and timely manner
15. Knowledge of tools and equipment needed to complete a job.
16. Knowledge of commercial refrigeration systems a plus.
17. Other duties as assigned.
18. Make purchases at local supply houses according to Company procedure
Qualification: -
- Valid CT HVAC license S1or S2 or D1 or D2
- Valid OSHA 10 card
- Minimum five years commercial service experience.
- Experience in control systems, frequency drives, boilers, chillers, towers, mission critical cooling, Safety requirements, and applicable local codes and regulations
