What are the responsibilities and job description for the Junior CAD Designer/Drafter position at AllSTEM Connections?
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior CAD Designer to join our team in Hauppauge, NY. This is an on-site role requiring regular in-office collaboration. The ideal candidate has a strong interest in life safety and fire protection systems and is eager to grow within a structured engineering and design environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive project assignments from Design Team members
Under supervision, prepare construction drawings for electronic special systems including:
Fire alarm systems
Security systems
Access control systems
Other low-voltage specialty systems
Develop drawings such as:
Floor plan layouts
Riser diagrams
Electrical interconnection drawings
Installation/termination details
Prepare submittal documentation (e.g., data sheets, battery calculations)
Maintain project drawing files and documentation
Track and update as-built drawings
Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
Proficiency in AutoCAD (version 2014 or higher)
Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Solid organizational and time management skills
Some experience in construction (electrical or mechanical preferred)
Experience in a professional/work environment (not solely academic experience)
High school diploma or equivalent
