About the Position
This role is focused on designing and developing aircraft and airframe structures for next-generation, high-performance uncrewed aircraft.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the conceptual and detailed design of prototype aircraft.
- Complete CAD modeling using NX Siemens.
- Utilize first principle methods and design guides to rapidly develop and trade aerostructures.
- Owning the development of primary and secondary aircraft structural parts, assemblies, and installations using sheet metal, billet metallic, and composite materials.
- Work within a team of 15 engineers and coordinate with teams of 60 across multiple groups.
- Detail out the structure of aircraft and coordinate with various departments to mature the design from conception to production.
- Participate in prototype testing and design reviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering preferred. Candidates with a Master's or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline are also considered.
- Experience in airframe design engineering. Practical aircraft understanding and passion (pilot, homebuilding, A&P, RC, etc.) are highly valued.
- Proficiency in CAD layout (NX Siemens), aircraft system design, aerostructure design, and structural sizing.
- Excellent communication, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative group.
