Medical Assistant – Part-Time / Per Diem

Location: Clearwater, FL
Schedule: Approximately 20 hours per week | Part-Time / Per Diem
Clinic Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM

We are currently seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join a busy outpatient clinic in Clearwater, FL. This is a great opportunity for an MA who enjoys a combination of front-office and hands-on clinical responsibilities and is looking for a flexible part-time schedule.

The greatest scheduling need is Monday through Thursday, but the clinic may be able to work around the right candidate’s availability.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in patients while verifying insurance coverage and eligibility
• Answer and triage incoming calls, route calls appropriately, and take accurate messages
• Schedule patient appointments and verify benefits and membership coverage
• Obtain and document vital signs
• Administer immunizations and injections
• Perform point-of-care testing
• Perform blood draws/phlebotomy and lab collection
• Assist with occupational health testing
• Complete accurate clinical and administrative documentation
• Participate in staff meetings and required training
• Cross-train and assist other departments as needed

Qualifications

• 1 year of front- and back-office Medical Assistant experience
• Previous phlebotomy experience in a clinical setting
• Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program or completion of on-the-job MA training with CCMA certification prior to hire
• Current CPR certification
• Strong computer and documentation skills
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Strong time-management and organizational skills
• Reliable, team-oriented, and able to adapt to changing clinic needs

Schedule

The clinic is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This is a part-time/per diem opportunity currently offering approximately 20 hours per week, with the possibility of additional hours depending on clinic needs and candidate availability.
