Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled OR support: set up, maintain, and break down sterile fields and instrument sets
• Support PACU and Day Surgery areas to ensure smooth patient transitions
• Prepare equipment and supplies needed for surgical procedures with attention to detail
• Maintain infection control and aseptic technique to keep patients safe
• Assist surgical team and physicians efficiently during procedures
• Perform assigned clerical or administrative duties to support departmental workflow
• Follow department cleaning procedures to keep areas clean, sanitary, and attractive
• Exercise good judgment and decision-making consistent with surgical technologist scope

Qualifications

• Current CST certification (Association of Surgical Technologists) required
• Current Washington (WA) state license required
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• Minimum one year hospital surgical experience preferred
• High school diploma or GED required; completion of Surgical Technologist program or equivalent experience
• Ability to work effectively with a variety of physicians and clinical staff
• Ability to lift and move patients/equipment per role requirements

Education

• High School diploma or GED
• Successful completion of a Surgical Technologist program or equivalent experience

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough knowledge of asepsis and sterile technique
• Working knowledge of surgical instruments and OR equipment
• Familiarity with PACU and Day Surgery workflows
• Strong infection control practices and attention to detail
• Patient handling and safe lifting techniques
• Basic clerical/administrative skills to support department needs
