Allied Water Services is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee residential, commercial, and municipal water-related projects from kickoff through close-out. This role is responsible for planning, scheduling, coordination, documentation, and execution across multiple job sites while ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within scope.
This position requires someone who understands field operations, can communicate clearly with crews, subcontractors, inspectors, and office staff, and can keep projects moving without constant oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
- Manage projects involving septic systems, sewer repairs, waterproofing, drainage, excavation, and site utilities
- Develop and maintain project schedules, timelines, and task sequencing
- Coordinate material ordering, equipment scheduling, and subcontractors
- Ensure scope, specs, and permits are followed correctly
Field & Crew Coordination
- Serve as the primary point of contact between field crews, office staff, vendors, and clients
- Conduct job site visits to monitor progress, quality, safety, and productivity
- Address field issues quickly and decisively to prevent delays
- Ensure crews have the information and resources needed to perform efficiently
Client, Inspector & Municipality Communication
- Communicate with homeowners, property managers, municipalities, and inspectors as required
- Coordinate inspections, approvals, and compliance with local codes and permits
- Maintain professional relationships with municipalities and regulatory agencies
Documentation & Reporting
- Track job progress, change orders, and project costs
- Ensure accurate documentation including permits, inspections, photos, and close-out paperwork
- Report project status, delays, and risks to ownership and operations leadership
Safety & Quality Control
- Enforce company safety standards and job-site compliance
- Ensure work meets company quality standards and manufacturer specifications
- Identify and correct issues before they become call-backs or liabilities
Qualifications
- Experience as a Project Manager or Superintendent in septic, sewer, utilities, excavation, waterproofing, or heavy civil construction
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, and field operations
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once without losing control
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working in active job-site environments
- Proficient with basic technology, scheduling tools, and documentation systems
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between job sites
Preferred Experience
- Municipal or public-works project coordination
- Familiarity with Illinois codes, permits, and inspections
- Experience working with excavation crews and underground utilities
