Required Qualifications
*Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in utility construction, telecom, or underground infrastructure projects
*Proven experience overseeing active construction crews in the field, including operators, locators, laborers, and subcontractors
*Strong working knowledge of utility construction methods, including directional drilling, plowing, excavation, and restoration
*Demonstrated ability to manage projects safely, accurately, and in compliance with project specifications, client requirements, and company standards
*Solid understanding of OSHA regulations, jobsite safety requirements, traffic control, and damage prevention practices
*Experience responding to and resolving utility strikes, including investigation, documentation, and corrective actions
*Ability to conduct walkouts, inspections, and quality control reviews to ensure work meets required standards
*Experience calling in locates through the 811 system and coordinating with utility owners
*Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage daily reporting, documentation, and paperwork accurately and on time
*Ability to plan, layout, and mark routes, stations, vaults, and pedestal locations using appropriate field marking practices
*Proficiency using mobile tools and applications for time-stamped photos, documentation, and reporting
*Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with crews, inspectors, clients, utility owners, and the public
*Ability to work independently, make decisions in the field, and adjust plans as conditions change
*Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
General Responsibilities
*Ensures that the project moves forward in a timely, cost-effective manner, making changes and adjustments as necessary.
*Motivates and monitors the progress of work performed by project staff.
*Plans and participates in meetings, discussion groups and other types of events to promote project visibility.
*Serves as a key resource for project information and resolves problems or questions referred by internal and external sources.
*Conducts final inspections and reports for the project.·
*Maintain understanding of all specifications, standard practices, and safety for all crews (OSHA Compliant, Signs, Cones, Etc.).
*Conduct walkouts and inspect all the crew’s work completed to ensure quality.
*Respond to utility strikes, conduct investigation, completes documentation (strike report) of said strike within 24hrs.
*Conducts retraining of the contractor.
*Plan and layout route and Vault/ped locations with white or pink paint.
*Place station marks for route and ped/vault locations in pink or whiter paint.
*Use time stamp camera app for pre-construction, during, and post construction locations including station marks in pictures.
*Collect daily production reports from crews and Send Daily to appropriate person.
*Wheel off all footage completed to ensure correct footages are billed.
*Approve all completed work or reject and have contractor fix the problem areas.
*Be responsible for all paperwork sent to the office daily (JSA, Sign-in sheets, Etc.)
*Ensure all equipment is kept clean, instruct the crew of anything that needs to be cleaned (machines, Trucks, Etc.)

While some administrative work or remote work is required, the majority of the role is performed outdoors in a construction environment.
The Project Manager is regularly exposed to varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, snow, wind, dust, and mud. Work environments may include residential neighborhoods, commercial properties, and roadway or right-of-way settings, often in close proximity to traffic, heavy equipment, noise, and live underground utilities. This position requires a high level of physical activity, including walking long distances along project routes, standing for extended periods, bending, kneeling, climbing in and out of equipment, and navigating uneven or congested terrain.
