About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead complex capital projects from planning through completion while partnering with engineering, construction, environmental, permitting, procurement, and contractor teams. This role requires a strong leader who can manage project execution, financial performance, stakeholder communication, and project risks to ensure successful delivery of high-impact transmission and distribution projects.
Responsibilities:
- Lead multiple utility capital projects through the entire project lifecycle, from initiation to final closeout.
- Develop and manage project execution plans, including scope, schedule, budget, risk, communication, and resource strategies.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, permitting, environmental, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
- Manage project financials, including forecasting, cash flow, cost control, revenue recognition, invoicing, and cost-to-complete reporting.
- Oversee contractor selection, contract administration, change orders, claims resolution, and overall contractor performance.
- Monitor project risks, identify mitigation strategies, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.
- Ensure project governance standards, documentation, reporting, and compliance requirements are maintained throughout execution.
- Serve as the primary point of communication for internal leadership, customers, and key project stakeholders.
- Drive continuous process improvements while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and operational excellence.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
- 5 years of project management experience supporting construction, utility, or infrastructure projects.
- Experience managing large capital projects, including budgets, forecasting, scheduling, and cost controls.
- Strong understanding of engineering, permitting, construction, and project delivery processes.
- Experience supporting electric utility Transmission and/or Distribution projects.
- Ability to oversee projects from initiation through commissioning and final closeout.
- Knowledge of engineering coordination, including physical, electrical, protection & control, and SCADA design activities.
- Familiarity with right-of-way, permitting, environmental compliance, surveys, and customer coordination.
- Experience managing procurement, contractor mobilization, outage coordination, and construction execution.
- Understanding of contract administration, change order management, claims resolution, and contractor performance management.
- Proven ability to coordinate multiple internal and external stakeholders while meeting critical project milestones and in-service dates.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
