Lead Process Utilities Engineer | Allied Resources Technical Consultants
About the Position:
Allied Resources is seeking a Lead Process Utilities Engineer to support an engineering, construction, and consulting firm specializing in life sciences and food & beverage facilities. This full-time role will support project delivery across all phases, providing technical leadership, discipline oversight, and coordination with internal teams, clients, and external partners. Candidates can work out of the Philadelphia, PA or Boston offices.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, direct, and manage discipline-level engineering work and project budgets on large, complex projects.
- Partner with the Project Manager to support proposal development, man-hour planning, and project scheduling for discipline scope.
- Lead coordination efforts with clients, internal stakeholders, and external partners.
- Oversee discipline execution across all project sizes, ensuring quality, accuracy, and technical integrity of engineering deliverables.
- Perform quality checks for complex documents, including verification of design calculations and technical documentation.
- Manage multiple concurrent tasks while setting priorities and directing the work of the engineering team.
- Develop and deliver intermediate-level discipline training for internal staff.
- Direct and manage workflows for engineering and design support staff (Entry-Level through Senior) to ensure project objectives and client expectations are met.
- Lead or support advanced technical activities such as:
- Utility room layout development and pipe routing space planning
- Capacity planning and expansion strategies
- Complex vendor package management
- Participation in or facilitation of HAZOPs, HCCPs, and other risk assessments
- 3D model reviews and coordination
- Responsible for commissioning and startup activities through site walkdowns and field reporting
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (ABET-accredited) in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- 10 years of experience required
- Experience working for design firms, operating companies, or construction organizations within the life sciences or related sectors.
- Extensive knowledge of relevant industry guidelines, regulatory frameworks, and local building codes.
Preferred Requirements:
- Professional Engineering (PE) license.
- Strong leadership capabilities with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience across equipment, systems, and facility types common to the Pharmaceutical and Food and Beverage industries.
