About the Position:
Allied Resources is looking for an Automation Engineer for an exciting full-time hybrid schedule opportunity with a leading life sciences engineering team in Conshohocken, PA. Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers to develop control strategies for mechanical equipment in GMP facilities.
- Review and interpret P&IDs to determine proper instrumentation and verify feasibility of sequence operations against industry standards.
- Interface directly with clients, presenting control system strategies and rationales.
- Develop specifications and system frameworks for BAS vendors, including network architecture drawings for clear system understanding.
- Support large-scale life sciences and pharmaceutical projects.
- Participate in site visits to review systems and ensure proper implementation (less than 10% travel).
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of mechanical systems and their integration with automation.
- Familiarity with industry-standard communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus) and their implementation.
- Understanding of GMP facility requirements and life safety equipment (e.g., gas detection).
- Proficiency with Revit and Bluebeam (CAD is beneficial).
- Strong client-facing communication skills with the ability to explain automation design decisions.
- Experience in Life Science, Biotech, Pharma, and GMP Manufacturing projects.
Nice to Have:
- Knowledge of building codes and ASHRAE standards.
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
