We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Commercial Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician to join our team. Responsibilities
- Install, service, and repair commercial HVAC systems including air conditioning units, ventilation systems, boilers, refrigeration units, and ammonia refrigeration equipment.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, blueprints, and HVAC design documents to accurately diagnose issues and implement solutions.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Troubleshoot electrical components using tools such as ohmmeters and diagnostic software; perform wiring repairs as needed.
- Perform plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems including pipe fitting, leak detection, and component replacement.
- Weld or fabricate parts when necessary for system repairs or modifications; operate welding equipment safely.
- Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports; communicate clearly with clients regarding system status and recommended actions.
- Drive company vehicle safely to various job sites; adhere to all safety protocols during field service operations.
- Assist with appliance repair and property maintenance tasks related to HVAC systems when required.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards related to refrigerants such as R410A or ammonia; handle refrigerant recovery and recycling responsibly.
Experience
- At least 7 years proven experience as a service technician in commercial HVAC/R environments with a strong mechanical background.
- Hands-on experience with construction projects involving HVAC installation or renovation work.
- Knowledge of schematics, HVAC design principles, and mechanical systems troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with refrigeration systems including ammonia refrigeration is highly desirable.
- Skilled in the use of diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters; capable of equipment repair and maintenance.
- Previous field service experience working on air conditioning units, boilers, ventilation systems, or property maintenance is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license (including
driver if applicable) with a clean driving record. - Additional certifications in refrigeration (e.g., EPA 608), welding, or boiler operation are advantageous but not required. Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
