Duties
- Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems including air conditioning units, refrigeration equipment, boilers, and ventilation systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, technical manuals, and HVAC design documents to troubleshoot issues effectively.
- Conduct field service operations such as equipment repair, plumbing work, welding tasks, and appliance repairs to ensure system reliability.
- Diagnose electrical problems using tools like ohmmeters and other testing instruments; perform electrical wiring and component replacements as needed.
- Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports documenting all work performed for compliance and future reference.
- Assist with property maintenance tasks related to HVAC/R systems to ensure safety standards are met across all facilities.
- Operate a variety of tools and machinery safely while adhering to safety protocols; support team efforts in emergency repairs or system upgrades.
Experience
- Proven experience as an HVAC service technician or in a similar field service role with construction or property maintenance backgrounds.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in equipment repair—including refrigeration systems such as ammonia refrigeration—and boiler operation.
- Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design principles, plumbing systems, and electrical wiring is essential.
- Experience working with HVAC/R systems in commercial or industrial settings; knowledge of refrigeration techniques including ammonia-based refrigeration is highly desirable.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools like ohmmeters effectively; welding skills are a plus.
- Demonstrated mechanic experience with field service operations involving appliance repair and equipment troubleshooting.
- Valid driver’s license (including
driver if applicable) for transportation between job sites; experience operating heavy machinery or specialized tools is advantageous.
