What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler position at ALLIED MACHINE & ENGINEERING?

LOCATION: 485 W. Third St. Dover, OH
THIS POSITION REPORTS TO: Mill Drill Insert Supervisor
ROLE: Receiving and shipping of unfinished product to and from outside vendors. Material handling. Inspection and restocking of raw materials received in. Receives incoming material and packages delivered through motor freight, UPS, and other carriers. Delivers mail, and items shipped through the inter-plant shipping system. Maintains the inter-plant shipping system between buildings. Ships out items on motor freight. Delivers incoming tooling to the Q.S. auditor for inspection. If available, loading and unloading of company owned trucks.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receive raw material.
- Customer Complaint’s must be received the same day they are delivered.
- Work with AE/FSE for CC repairs
- Ship and receive outside operations.
- Check in raw material.
- Receive product and other material as necessary, both physically and electronically.
- Operate overhead crane and lift trucks to move products and material throughout company.
- Receive products into plant, including raw and in-process materials, and UPS
- Opens packages and check against purchase order
- Receipt into computer, PO’s and material certs in smart search
- Distribute products and mail to designated areas
- Insure proper distribution of paperwork
- Loads and unloads trucks
- Delivery and shipment of mail and other items between facilities
- Maintain Kanban systems
- Lean/5S responsibilities
- Observe and report any areas that need addressed.
- Associate shall maintain the appropriate tool kit per the "Associate Tool Policy".
- Operators are required to stand anywhere from 8-12hrs per day
- Must be able to lift and carry at least 32lbs
- Continuous walking through the plant during the work day
- Lift Truck Certification
- Must move carts weighing up to 100lbs
- Operate overhead crane
Education
- High School Graduate or GED equivalent
Experience
- Minimal computer experience
- Experience in use of micrometers
Skills
- Low absenteeism/tardiness, as determined by management
- Good organizational skills
Minimum requirements
- Ability to lift 32 lbs. unassisted
- Push load of 100 lbs.
- Ability to use overhead crane
- Use of calipers and scale
