Job Overview
We are seeking a Flooring Sales & Design Associate to join our Agawam showroom team. In this role you will combine design sense with sales ability to help customers select the right flooring for their space. You own the sale from the first conversation through installation and follow-up; consulting on product, writing and presenting the quote, coordinating the measure and install, and resolving anything that comes up along the way.
This is a consultative sales role, not a retail cashier position.
Additional Pay Information
Pay consists of a base salary plus uncapped commission. The maximum of the range shown on this post represents a typical income, not a ceiling. Top performers earn more. A guarantee option can also be discussed for the first year.
Duties
- Greet and qualify customers entering the showroom and answer incoming phone and email inquiries
- Consult with customers to provide expert guidance on their flooring and renovation needs, pairing them with products based on function, traffic, style, and budget
- Demonstrate products hands-on and explain features to highlight benefits and add-on opportunities
- Attend occasional on-site customer meetings
- Schedule measure appointments with our measure technicians
- Write and present quotes, and close the sale
- Schedule installations and coordinate with install teams
- Follow up with customers and resolve any issues that arise
- Use slower periods to proactively drive business — following up on open quotes, building referral relationships, and maintaining a professional social media presence with support from our marketing director
- Help maintain a clean and organized showroom and desk space

Requirements
- Flooring industry sales experience strongly preferred
- Showroom, design center, or consultative sales experience also strongly considered - kitchen and bath, furniture, appliances, windows, tile, lighting, or similar
- Must have computer skills and be literate in Word, Outlook and basic programs
- For the right candidate with the right instincts, we will train on product, process, and our QFloors software.
- Basic math skills for quoting and measurements
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple customers at once
- Knowledge of renovation processes, construction practices, and maintenance is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, in-person and on the phone, coupled with organizational abilities for client and internal communication
- Experience in interior design or layout planning is a plus
Schedule
Two-week rotation.
- Week 1: Monday 8–5, Tuesday 8–5, Wednesday 8–5, Thursday 10–7, Friday 8–5
- Week 2: Tuesday 8–5, Wednesday 8–5, Thursday 8–5, Friday 8–5, Saturday 9–3
One evening shift every other week and one Saturday every other week. No regular Sunday hours. We only open 1 or 2 Sundays a year.
