Job Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
Month-End Close & Financial Reporting
- Lead and manage the month-end close cycle to ensure timely, accurate, and GAAP-compliant reporting
- Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial statements prepared by the team
- Streamline and enhance close processes with an ownership mindset focused on continuous improvement
- Ensure consistent accounting treatment across Allied Fire Protection’s construction, service, inspections, monitoring, and recurring-revenue business units
- Uphold the value of Integrity by ensuring the highest standards of accuracy, transparency, and compliance
- Design and deliver analytical reports, dashboards, KPIs, and job-cost analyses that support leaders across all business lines
- Collaborate with operations, service, and project management teams to build reporting that drives better decisions
- Provide insights that strengthen forecasting and budgeting processes
- Ensure data, KPIs and reporting processes reflect Allied’s commitment to operational excellence
- Build and maintain strong relationships across departments, including operations, service, sales, project management, and corporate services
- Serve as a key liaison between Accounting and other teams to ensure smooth communication and effective issue resolution
- Promote Teamwork by encouraging cross-functional cooperation and shared accountability
- Collaborate with IT and systems teams to improve ERP usage and financial visibility
- Help build, lead, and develop a high-performing accounting team that exemplifies Allied’s core values
- Recruit, mentor, and coach team members with a spirit of Humility and commitment to growth
- Create a culture of accountability, service, and collaboration.
- Establish clear roles, processes, and expectations to support scalable growth
- Evaluate existing accounting workflows and develop improved processes that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls
- Support ERP enhancements, new system implementations, and process documentation
Knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or progress toward CPA strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, job-cost accounting, and operational reporting.
- 5–8 years of accounting experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities
- Experience in fire & life safety, construction, mechanical/electrical service, or other project-based industries preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels
- Advanced proficiency with ERP systems (Viewpoint/Vista, Sage, Netsuite, etc.) and Excel/reporting tools
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-growing environment while modeling Allied’s values of Integrity, Humility, and Teamwork.
- Demonstrated track record of driving process improvements and strengthening financial workflows
