Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Assistant Controller to support the financial and accounting operations of the organization. Key Responsibilities
- Support the Controller in managing daily accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial reporting
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Help maintain and strengthen internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance
- Support the development and standardization of accounting policies and procedures
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with department leaders
- Coordinate audit preparation and support external auditors during financial reviews
- Prepare supporting schedules, reconciliations, and documentation for tax compliance and reporting
- Monitor cash flow activities and assist with banking transactions and account management
- Provide financial analysis, variance reporting, and insights to support leadership decision-making
- Help implement and improve financial systems, reporting tools, and accounting processes
- Produce reports, dashboards, and performance analyses for executive leadership
- Support special projects, cost initiatives, and ROI analysis efforts as assigned by the Controller or CFO
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff while helping build a high-performing team environment
- Bachelor’s degree (CPA or CPA-eligible preferred)
- 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience
- 1–3 years of experience in a senior accounting, accounting manager, or assistant controller-level role
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication abilities
- Demonstrated leadership capability and desire to grow into a Controller role
