The Production Print Engineer plays a critical role in supporting Allied Business Solutions’ production print clients and sales teams. This role combines deep technical expertise with customer-facing engagement, ensuring the successful design, implementation, training, and ongoing optimization of production print solutions. The Production Print Engineer partners closely with sales, service, and clients to drive solution accuracy, customer satisfaction, and long-term account growth.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Sales and Solution Support
- Partner with the sales team to assess client production print environments, workflows, and business objectives.
- Provide technical consultation, solution design, and product recommendations for production print and finishing solutions.
- Qualify opportunities to ensure proper equipment, software, and applications are aligned with customer needs.
- Support product demonstrations, workflow discussions, and technical presentations as needed.
Implementation and Post-Sale Support
- Lead and support production print system integrations and workflow automation initiatives.
- Provide post-installation training on production print equipment, finishing equipment, and Fiery or comparable workflow software.
- Deliver Tier 2 post-sale support for production print software and workflow-related issues, as assigned.
- Assist service technicians with advanced software applications, file preparation, and layout troubleshooting.
Technical Expertise and Continuous Learning
- Maintain current certifications and technical proficiency on Fiery and other production print workflow platforms.
- Stay informed on emerging production print technologies, software applications, and finishing solutions.
- Train clients on best practices for production print equipment operation, workflow efficiency, and output quality.
Professional Services and Collaboration
- Manage assigned professional services engagements, including accurate time tracking and revenue accountability.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, service, and leadership to support overall production print growth.
- Build strong, trusted relationships with clients, sales representatives, and internal teams.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in a production print environment or production print sales engineering role.
- Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Fiery workflow software.
- Experience with Xerox production print systems or equivalent platforms from Canon, Konica Minolta, or Ricoh.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and common online business applications.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
