Director of Human Resources, (Clinics & Leadership Development)

We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and hands-on Director of Human Resources to join our growing People Team. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Human Resources, this full-time, onsite role is based in Matawan, New Jersey, and serves as a critical bridge between our corporate HR strategy and local clinic execution.
This role will have two primary responsibilities:
- Serve as the HR Business Partner (HRBP) to our Clinics and Performance Center, ensuring exceptional people operations and strong partnership with Clinic Directors and business leaders.
- Design and implement leadership and development programs, including:
- An Early Career Development Program to strengthen talent pipelines and employee growth.
- A People Manager Development Program to elevate leadership capability, accountability, and management effectiveness.

What You’ll Do
HR Business Partnership & Clinic Support
- Serve as the dedicated HR Business Partner to Alliance Orthopedic clinics and the Performance Center, building trusted relationships with Clinic Directors and operational leaders.
- Partner closely with leaders to ensure smooth and effective people operations, including workforce planning, employee relations, performance management, engagement, improving retention, and organizational effectiveness.
- Support clinic leadership in addressing employee concerns, coaching conversations, conflict resolution, and workplace challenges while balancing employee experience and business needs.
- Drive consistency and compliance in HR practices across clinic locations while ensuring alignment with organizational standards.
- Partner with leaders on local people initiatives, including engagement, retention, staffing strategies, recognition, and team effectiveness.
- Lead the local implementation of corporate HR programs and initiatives, ensuring successful adoption at the clinic level (performance management, onboarding, compensation practices, training initiatives, culture programs, etc.).
- Use workforce data, trends, and insights to identify risks, opportunities, and solutions that improve organizational performance and employee experience.
- Support change management efforts and organizational growth initiatives across assigned business areas.
Leadership & Employee Development
- Design and launch an Early Career Development Program focused on onboarding, capability building, mentorship, career readiness, and retention of emerging talent.
- Design and implement a scalable People Manager Development Program that strengthens leadership capability, accountability, communication, coaching effectiveness, and organizational performance across the enterprise.
- Partner with business leaders to identify skill gaps and learning opportunities that support operational excellence and career growth.
- Measure program effectiveness and continuously improve leadership and development initiatives based on feedback and business needs.
HR Operations & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, HR policies, and organizational standards.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition, Payroll, Benefits, and HR Operations to deliver a seamless employee experience.
- Support investigations, corrective actions, documentation, and employee relations matters as needed.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and sound judgment in handling sensitive employee matters.

Education & Experience
- Master’s Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or related field strongly preferred.
- 7 years of progressive HR experience, including HR Business Partner or Generalist leadership experience.
- Experience supporting multi-site operations, healthcare, clinical, or service-based organizations.
- Strong understanding of employment law, employee relations, performance management, and organizational development.
Travel
- Ability to travel up to 15% to support clinic locations, across central and north New Jersey, and organizational initiatives.
