Duties
- Assist licensed occupational therapists in developing and implementing personalized care plans tailored to each patient's needs.
- Monitor patient progress and document responses to interventions accurately in medical records.
- Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises, safety techniques, and adaptive equipment usage to promote independence at home and in the community.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans for patients in pediatrics.
- Assist with the setup and maintenance of medical imaging equipment when relevant to therapy sessions involving physiologic assessments or functional evaluations.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to occupational therapy practices.
- Familiarity with acute care settings, inpatient hospital protocols, outpatient clinics, and skilled nursing facilities.
- Ability to apply understanding of care plans tailored for pediatrics.
- Knowledge of occupational health principles and safety standards within healthcare environments.
