What are the responsibilities and job description for the EVS Housekeeping Manager position at ALLEN PARISH HOSPITAL DISTRICT NO 3?
JOB FUNCTION:
- Supervises the work activities of cleaning personnel to ensure clean, orderly, and attractive rooms, hallways, office spaces, lobbies, etc. throughout the hospital and clinics.
- Assign duties, inspect work, create and maintain a schedule for employees, and investigate complaints regarding housekeeping services and equipment.
- Recruit team members, screen applicants, train new employees, and Coach and counsel team members.
- Demonstrates adherence to infection control policies.
- Inventories stock to ensure adequate supplies.
- Supervisor will be responsible for analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution to solve problems.
- He or she will prepare reports concerning room occupancy, payroll, and departmental expenses.
- Performs the cleaning duties in cases of emergency or staff shortage.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: The minimum requirement is a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Supervisory: Reports to CFO. Supervises Environmental Service Workers.
- Job Knowledge: The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing patient and personal services. This includes meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of patient satisfaction. Prior housekeeping and/or maintenance experience required.
- Skills: Effective communication skills; Ability to read chemical labels and MSDS information sheets; Ability to assess situations and make judgment calls and act appropriately. Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing with other departments and employees. Computer experience with word processing, spreadsheets, and various software.
- Physical Demands: This position is classified as a Category 1 position under OSHA guidelines with high risk of exposure to blood borne pathogens and other potentially infectious materials. Normal physical mobility, which includes ability to maneuver body while in place. Normal physical strength to hand routine medical office materials and equipment. Normal physical strength to lift and handle up to 50 lbs., and taking frequency into consideration. Normal dexterity of hands and fingers.
- License: BLS/CPR or CPI/MOAB/EDGE preferred.
- Confidentiality: HIPAA regulations and confidentiality according to Allen Parish Hospital policies and state and federal regulations.
