Superintendent – Ground-Up Healthcare Facility

A highly respected, award-winning General Contractor with a legacy dating back to the 1950s is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead the delivery of two flagship ground-up healthcare projects in Florence and Cheraw, SC.
This project consists of a 60,000 SF, 3-story medical center and involves full-cycle construction from sitework and foundations through to structural frame, building envelope, and complex MEP systems installation. The role offers the opportunity to take full ownership of a high-profile healthcare build, with significant technical challenges including coordination of critical systems, strict regulatory compliance, and delivery to healthcare-specific standards.
This approximately 18–24 month programme provides a standout opportunity to lead from mobilization through to commissioning and handover, ensuring excellence in execution across all phases of construction. The contractor delivers a full suite of services including general contracting, construction management, project management, and design-build. With healthcare projects accounting for over 50% of their revenue, they are a recognised leader in the sector, with multiple hospital ground-up developments scheduled across the Carolinas & Georgia in early 2026—offering strong long-term pipeline and career progression.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all on-site construction activities from preconstruction planning through to project closeout
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors across all trades including civil, structural, envelope, and MEP systems
- Oversee site logistics, sequencing, and scheduling to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to programme milestones
- Drive installation and coordination of complex mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in line with healthcare requirements
- Maintain strict compliance with safety standards, including OSHA regulations and healthcare-specific protocols
- Implement and enforce quality control procedures across all phases of construction
- Chair subcontractor meetings, lead daily briefings, and coordinate inspections with consultants and authorities
- Proactively identify risks, resolve site issues, and maintain progress against budget and schedule targets
- Act as the primary on-site leader and key liaison between client, design team, and project stakeholders
- Mentor and develop junior field staff, fostering a high-performance site culture
