Minimum Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in health care administration, business administration, finance, a clinical specialty, AND two (2) years of experience as a licensed long-term care administrator.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is acceptable.

It is the policy of Allegheny County that in order to receive a final offer of employment, candidates must successfully pass a background check, which includes verification of Allegheny County Real Estate Tax status, and drug/medical examinations as required for the position. The pre-employment drug screen must be completed within 48 hours of the acceptance of the conditional offer of employment.

Position Summary

The Central Assistant Administrator, housed within Kane's Glenn Hazel Central Administration, provides oversight for all four of the Kane Community Living Centers and operates under the direction of the Executive Director and Deputy Executive. Director. The incumbent in this role provides centralized support to the four Regional Center Administrators on various administrative and operational issues, including regulatory compliance, personnel management, patient and resident-focused services, all while promoting a high standard of operational efficiency and quality of service. The incumbent will be required to work a flexible schedule according to the operational needs of the facility.

Overview

Duties:

  • Assists the Regional Center Administrators with various operational aspects of Kane Community Living Center, including nursing, dietary, housekeeping, social services, and maintenance; personnel matters such as performance and grievances; participates in the preparation and monitoring of budgets and financial reports.
  • May support day-to-day clinical and administrative onsite activities including profit and loss responsibility, recruitment, training and ensures compliance with all state and federal regulations including Department of Health and Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services requirements.
  • Monitors and may report on quality assurance/performance improvement initiatives.
  • Aids regulatory agency personnel in inspections, surveys, and audits; may help Regional Center Administrators implement corrective action plans as needed such as service recovery measures and redocumentation files checks and balances.
  • Provides ongoing education, mentorship, and leadership development to facility management and team members.
  • Maintains and guides the implementation of facility policies and procedures in compliance with corporate, state, federal, and other regulatory guidelines.
  • Provides innovative, responsible healthcare with the creation and implementation of new ideas and concepts that continually improve systems and processes to achieve superior results.
  • Consults with department managers concerning the operation of their departments to assist in problem areas and/or improvement of services, then reports the findings to the Nursing Home Administrator (NHA); implements control systems to ensure accountability of all departments.
  • Serves as Interim Administrator in a center where a vacancy occurs or in the absence of the Regional Center Administrator.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

Residency: Allegheny County within 1 year.
