COMMERCIAL ELECTRICAL ESTIMATOR

Job Overview

The ideal candidate will have strong commercial electrical construction knowledge and proven experience using Trimble Accubid and LiveCount estimating/takeoff software.

This position will be responsible for reviewing plans and specifications, performing electronic takeoffs, preparing detailed electrical estimates, obtaining vendor and subcontractor pricing, and helping develop competitive proposals for commercial and public-sector electrical projects.

Key Responsibilities

· Prepare complete and accurate estimates for commercial electrical construction projects.

· Review electrical drawings, specifications, addenda, and bid documents.

· Perform detailed electronic material and labor takeoffs using LiveCount.

· Develop estimates using Trimble Accubid / Accubid Anywhere.

· Transfer and coordinate takeoff information between LiveCount and Accubid.

· Apply appropriate labor units, material pricing, equipment costs, subcontractor costs, and overhead.

· Solicit and evaluate pricing from electrical suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors.

· Identify project scope, exclusions, clarifications, and potential risks.

· Prepare bid summaries and proposal information for management review.

· Review project schedules, phasing requirements, and site conditions that may affect pricing.

· Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits when required.

· Coordinate with project managers, field supervisors, purchasing, and management during the estimating and project turnover process.

· Maintain organized estimating files, vendor quotations, takeoff documentation, and project records.

· Assist with change-order pricing and estimates for additional work when necessary.

· Track historical job costs and completed-project information to improve future estimating accuracy.

Required Qualifications

· Previous experience estimating commercial electrical construction projects.

· Demonstrated experience using Trimble Accubid estimating software.

· Demonstrated experience using LiveCount for electronic electrical takeoffs.

· Ability to accurately perform counts, measurements, assemblies, and takeoffs from electronic construction drawings.

· Strong understanding of commercial electrical systems, materials, equipment, and installation methods.

· Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and construction documents.

· Knowledge of labor units, productivity factors, material pricing, and electrical construction costs.

· Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and related business software.

· Excellent organizational and analytical skills.

· Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· High attention to detail and accuracy.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
