As a key member of our estimating team, you'll prepare accurate, competitive bids and collaborate with project managers, clients, and vendors to ensure alignment from pricing to project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Review specifications, plans, and scopes of work for commercial roofing projects
- Conduct site visits and assessments as needed to evaluate project conditions
- Perform material takeoffs and develop detailed cost estimates
- Utilize estimating software (e.g., JobBoss, The EDGE, or similar)
- Solicit and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotes
- Prepare professional bid proposals and support pre-bid activities
- Collaborate with project managers and superintendents to ensure accurate handoff
- Maintain clear records of estimates, bid documents, and communications
- Assist in drawing review and contribute to project planning discussions
- 5 years of experience estimating commercial roofing projects
- Background in construction, roofing, or a closely related trade
- Strong knowledge of roofing systems including TPO, PVC, EPDM, metal, and coatings
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documents
- Proficiency with estimating platforms (JobBoss, The EDGE, Bluebeam, or similar)
- Excellent math, analysis, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and client-facing professionalism
- Organized, detail-focused, and able to manage multiple deadlines
- Understanding of building codes, OSHA standards, and industry best practices
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.; valid driver's license
