Red Ox Construction is a construction company located in Covington, LA. We specialize in commercial construction, highways, streets and bridges, heavy civil, and municipal and public works. Red Ox Construction is seeking an Equipment Operator to join our team. As the equipment operator, you are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of equipment such as an excavator, skid steer, backhoe, etc., on construction sites.

- Safely operate heavy equipment for various construction tasks.
- Read and interpret civil construction blueprints, plans, and job specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on equipment.
- Communicate with supervisors and site personnel to ensure efficient project execution.
- Follow safety protocols to avoid accidents or damage to equipment and property.
- Perform site preparation, excavation, backfilling, grading, and other heavy lifting activities.
- Load and unload materials and equipment as needed.
- Report equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to management promptly.
Qualifications and Skills
- 5 years of experience operating heavy construction equipment.
- Certification to operate heavy equipment preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction site safety regulations.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and procedures.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Must be willing to travel
