What are the responsibilities and job description for the Civil Estimator position at All Star Electric?
Red Ox Construction is looking for a Civil Estimator to join the team! In this role you will be responsible for cost estimates, take-offs, and the gathering of information on civil projects. You will work closely with a team ensuring each bid proposal is up to company standards. The ideal candidate possess the relevant experience bidding on civil projects such as but not limited to highways, bridges, utilities, drainage, municipal, and public works.

- Analyze plan documents and other data to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Reviews and analyses bid documents for items relating to project risk, cost or company capability.
- Confers with engineers, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
- Reviews material and labor requirements to determine whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase components.
- Organizes estimates, quotations, notes, plans, and other pertinent data for final pre-bid review and leads discussion of individual bid items.
- Calculates a final figure for the estimated cost, supplemented by adjustments for overheads and profit, and presents a bid price.
- Coordinates bid closeout and final proposal preparations.
- Travels as required to attend meetings, site visits, training, etc.
- Reports status on assigned tasks and escalates any identified potential issues.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- 5 years estimating experience in in civil construction required.
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Detail oriented, strong organization and time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written.
- Knowledge and ability to use and comprehend advanced math and complete calculations.

Salary : $60,000 - $80,000
