Summary
Provides Tier 2 level support to students, teachers, and staff in the setup, operation, and maintenance of district technology including AV hardware and software.
Compensation
Commensurate with experience and qualifications per the AFSCME Local 1630 agreement
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 2 level support for district desktops, laptops, Chromebooks, iPads, and other mobile devices
- Provide Tier 2 level support for Microsoft Windows, MacOS, iOS, and Android OS
- Provide Tier 2 level support for SMART boards, document cameras, and other classroom and conference room technology hardware and software
- Provide Tier 2 level support for the district’s computer networks, phone system, and cyber security
- Provide Tier 2 level support for Google accounts, Gmail, and Google Drive
- Provide Tier 2 level support for Microsoft Active Directory
- Troubleshoot and repair district software problems and conduct follow-up to ensure problem resolution
- Work with vendors to arrange for timely service calls when deemed necessary
- Perform general maintenance and repairs on computer equipment
- Assists in the monitoring and testing of computer infrastructure hardware/software, computer networks, phone system, and cyber security systems
- Contribute to the creation of manuals and specific references for staff
- Install/configure/update software on all network-related devices
- Inform Technical Coordinator about any critical technology issues
- Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Director of Technology or Technology Coordinator
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate Degree in computing, networks, cyber security or a related field required, Bachelor’s Degree and/or technical certification preferred.
- 2 - 4 years of experience supporting user devices, classroom technology, computer networks, phone systems, and cyber security.
- Excellent problem solving skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical and instructional information to others.
- Ability to effectively communicate the status of materials/projects/repairs to administration.
- Willingness to further skills and formal education through workshops, seminars and classes.
- Willingness to keep current on the latest technological advancements.
- Ability to lift 40lbs. (unpacking and moving equipment) and install hardware.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks.
- High degree of honesty, integrity and ethical standards.
- Excellent record keeping, management/organizational skills.
