Duties
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections using software such as QuickBooks Online.
- Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger accounting to maintain accurate financial records in compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and relevant accounting standards
- Prepare journal entries, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations to support accurate financial reporting
- Process payroll and handle related tax filings, ensuring compliance with governmental regulations and payroll processing standards
- Maintain detailed spreadsheets (Excel)for budgeting, financial reports, and account analysis to support organizational decision-making
- Conduct account reconciliation tasks including accounts payable/receivable, bank statements, and general ledger accounts
- Assist with governmental accounting requirements and State and Federal level accounting practices as needed
Experience
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles with a strong understanding of double entry bookkeeping principles and financial concepts
- Hands-on experience with popular accounting software such as QuickBooks (including QuickBooks Online), Xero, Sage, or similar platforms
- Knowledge of corporate accounting practices as well as non-profit or governmental accounting is highly desirable
- Familiarity with payroll processing, tax experience, and account reconciliation procedures is essential
- Demonstrated ability to work with spreadsheets (Excel or equivalent), perform 10-key typing accurately, and handle account analysis efficiently
- Prior experience in public accounting or working within an organization that follows GAAP standards will be advantageous
- Knowledge of how to use and build spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel Online.
