Responsibilities
- Perform bathing, brushing, trimming, clipping, and styling of dogs according to breed standards and customer preferences
- Safely handle dogs during grooming procedures using proper animal restraint techniques
- Assess each pet’s condition and communicate any health concerns or skin issues to pet owners or veterinary staff
- Maintain a clean, organized grooming station and ensure all tools are sanitized after use
- Provide exceptional customer service by explaining grooming procedures and offering pet care advice
- Heavy lifting of grooming equipment, supplies, and pets to ensure safety and efficiency
Experience
- Previous experience in a pet grooming business OR certification from a grooming school is required
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and veterinary experience is a plus
- Familiarity with animal restraint methods and pet grooming tools is essential
- Excellent customer service skills coupled with a genuine love for animals are key to success in this role
