Responsibilities
- Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, clipping, and styling according to breed standards and client preferences
- Safely handle dogs during grooming procedures using proper animal restraint techniques
- Assess each dog’s coat condition and skin health, recommending additional veterinary or pet care if necessary
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming station, ensuring all tools are sanitized and equipment is in excellent working order
- Communicate clearly with pet owners about grooming needs, aftercare instructions, and any health concerns observed during grooming
- Assist with pet handling and training to ensure calm behavior during grooming sessions
- Support other team members with animal handling, pet sitting, or kennel duties as needed
Experience
- Previous experience in pet grooming or animal handling is a MUST
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and veterinary experience is a strong plus
- Familiarity with veterinary technician or veterinary assistant roles enhances your ability to recognize health issues
- Experience working with animals such as dogs, cats, or horses demonstrates your animal handling skills
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for bathing tubs or transporting animals safely
- Excellent customer service skills to build trust and rapport with pet owners
- Background in kennel management, pet sitting, or animal care roles supports your versatility in the position
