Duties
- Assist senior groomers with bathing, drying, brushing, and trimming dogs to ensure they look and feel their best
- Learn proper animal restraint techniques to keep pets calm and safe during grooming procedures
- Support the grooming team by preparing grooming stations, cleaning tools, and maintaining a hygienic environment
- Handle dogs with care, demonstrating patience and gentle handling to promote positive grooming experiences
- Maintain detailed records of each pet’s grooming preferences, health notes, and treatment history
Experience
- Previous experience working with animals is highly preferred; veterinary technician or assistant background is a plus
- Familiarity with dog handling, animal restraint, pet grooming, or kennel experience is advantageous
- Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for handling large dogs or equipment
- Demonstrated animal handling skills with patience and compassion in fast-paced environments
- Willingness to learn new skills related to pet grooming, training, and animal care
This paid apprenticeship is designed to provide you the experience necessary to become a fully trained pet groomer. Minimum time commitment and contract required. This position is part-time with potential for full-time after completion of apprenticeship. Please apply in person.
